ZOOID PICTURES is the UK's leading picture and footage research company; sourcing, managing and licensing media for major international publishing, broadcasting and exhibition projects worldwide since 1984, and pioneering research standards and technologies.

We are an established (but young) and growing company seeking new full time freelance contract picture and footage research team members to contribute to our continued growth.

Training is provided in all aspects of picture and footage research, requiring a long-term commitment from candidates.

Skills and qualifications required:

New Business Manager

Head for figures? Sound business sense? Good client liaison skills? Imaginative?

Zooid Pictures is the UK's leading picture and footage researcher, sourcing and licensing stills and clips for major international publishers and broadcasters since 1984.

We are currently seeking a New Business Manager with at least two years relevant experience in commerce to join the management team to ensure targets are maintained, new business is developed and handle simple accounting.

Strategic Planning

You will work alongside the Managing Director and the Research Manager, contribute to weekly production meetings; research new business opportunities for our unique services both in existing markets, liaise with major international broadcasters and publishers, and explore new markets whilst monitoring company cash flow. You will need to develop strategies and budget them, cold call and visit prospective clients as well as strengthen relationships with existing clients, negotiate pricing agreements for bulk licensing of stills and footage. At busy times you may also be required to assist the research team in sourcing clips and stills for licensing.

As a member of a small team you will have a real opportunity to influence company policy and your own growth and remuneration. Together with the Research Manager, you will act independently to oversee strategic development during the MD's absences, providing him with informed suggestions for management and strategic decisions, financial troubleshooting and developing new business initiatives.

You will be expected to contribute to the further development of Zooid business and demonstrate imagination, strategic rigour, experience and achievement in driving new business forward.

Accounting

In order to grasp the strategic planning required, above, you will need to be:

• Managing and monitoring all expenditure and income and providing accurate accounting
  
• Costing new business initiatives and identifying and implementing efficiencies
  
• Monitoring delivery of production targets and initiatives

You are:

Some -- if not all -- of the following:

• ambitious and imaginative, seeking a long term opportunity that you can shape yourself
  
• ideally, a qualified member of a professional accountancy body (CCAB) with a minimum of 2 years experience in a financial and business environment
  
• EU citizen or have indefinite leave to work in UK
  
• experienced in databases and all standard business IT applications
  
• interested in digital technology and their use in pushing business forward
  
• additional language/s also a bonus
  
• creative and resourceful, able to develop ideas, communicate and budget them, encourage their implementation in a small team, measure their benefits and identify weaknesses
  
• able to liaise effectively within the company and with clients
