ZOOID is the UK's leading photo, illustration and video research company; sourcing, managing and licensing media fr major international publishing, broadcasting and exhibition projects worldwide since 1984, and pioneering research standards and technologies.

We are an established (but young) and growing company seeking new full time team members to contribute to our continued growth.

Training is provided in all aspects of picture and footage research, requiring a long-term commitment from candidates.

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Strong communication and telephone skills

Rights Administrator

Responsibilities will include
Knowledge of rights, copyright, licensing and third party rights - particularly video
Ability to negotiate and administrate rights clearances thoroughly, accurately and efficiently
Knowledge of analog and of digital media formats
Ability to research and manage supply of footage and photos for publication/broadcast.
Ability to meet deadlines and work within budgets

Production Assistant

A successful company bucking market trends, we are looking for an ambitious and agile business brain to joint our small management team, ensure targets are maintained, our strategic plan is delivered, our vision promoted and our business developed through all the remarkable projects that we deliver to our blue chip Clients.

Production Planning

  • You will contribute to the further the development of Zooid business and demonstrate imagination, methodical rigour and attention to detail in driving the business forward.

    • work alongside the Managing Director and contribute to daily & weekly production and management meetings

    • research business opportunities as directed by the MD

    • carry out routine Strategic Tasks in regular consultation with the MD: strengthening relationships with existing clients, visiting prospective clients, trade fairs, soft marketing and preparing negotiations with key supplier agreements

    • provide production management during the MD's absences, providing him with financial reports.

    • As a member of a small team you have a real opportunity to influence company policy and your own growth and rewards.

You are:

Senior Media Researcher

Duties & Responsibilities:
Researching analog and digital picture, motion picture and Illustration assets
Researching topical programs for educational publishers and broadcasters
Researching unique 4k video assets for museums
Analyzing research briefs and the licensing rights required
Delegation of research tasks to picture and footage researchers 
High level data input into Digital Asset Management system
Multi-relational database system input
Management of online research results
Maintenance of data integrity
Photo and video editing using a full range of professional imaging software
Broadcast standard video supply
Team leadership of image researchers
Management of delegated research tasks
Developing research methodology for optimal results
Doing quality control of researched picture assets
Daily reporting of research budgets, deadlines and production activity 
Delivery to Client production specifications
Strict adherence to deadlines
Negotiating supplier license fees
Negotiating third party licensing and copyright agreements

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
minimum 2 years experience in educational publishing doing picture and footage research
minimum 2 years experience in project management, team management and research management
proven leadership skills
multi-media knowledge
knowledge of non-linear video editing, file formats, encoding formats, 
digital asset management and multi-relational database workflows essential. 
Intimate knowledge of educational publishing industry
Intimate knowledge of heritage sector and design studios
Intimate knowledge of picture and footage suppliers
minimum 2 years experience in negotiating copyright license fees
knowledge of third party rights in UK and US law
